2025-26 Annual English Fortnight
The school's 2025-26 English Fortnight took place from March 3 to March 16, 2026. Structured around the theme "Read More, Soar Higher!", the English Department organized a series of targeted activities designed to promote language engagement across all form levels.
- S1 Inter-class reading competition: Held in the School Hall on March 16, this competition aimed to foster a habit of independent reading and build a collaborative spirit among the junior classes.
- S2 Drama Appreciation: Students attended an off-campus event at the Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre on March 11. This experience provided students with valuable exposure to English performance arts and authentic spoken English in a professional theater setting.
- S3 Quiz Show: Conducted in the School Hall on March 16, this event tested students' general knowledge about classic readers and English vocabulary through a structured, interactive format.
- S1-S3 "Time to Share" Competition: Competitors gathered in the MPR on March 5. To ensure students were well-equipped, a pre-competition workshop was provided on March 4 to help them refine their presentation skills. This platform encouraged junior students to practice public speaking and articulate their thoughts clearly to an audience.
- S4 English Books Sharing Activity: Conducted in the MPR and SAC during Periods 8 and 9 on March 5, this session allowed senior students to exchange perspectives on literature and practice summarizing narratives with their peers.
- S5 ‘Broken Telephone’ and ‘Granny Telling Stories’: Held in the School Hall on March 12, these focused communication games were designed to improve active listening and verbal accuracy in an engaging, low-pressure environment.
- English Speaking Day: Held on March 13, this school-wide initiative successfully encouraged students to utilize spoken English outside the standard classroom setting.
- Book Worm Club: With the support of the school library team, Student Librarians attended meetings in the Library on March 3, 5, and 11. These gatherings were vital in organizing the library's reading resources to support the fortnight's central theme.
