S3 English Fairtrade Workshop

During the second term, S3 students explored the vital concept of Fairtrade in Unit 5. To deepen their understanding and foster active engagement, we arranged for Fair Trade Hong Kong, a reputable NGO dedicated to promoting ethical trading, to lead an interactive workshop at our school. This inspiring session took place on 3 July 2025, from 1:15 to 3:15 p.m., and provided students with a hands-on experience. Some students enthusiastically role-played as organic farmers negotiating trade with the village chief and local businessmen, gaining valuable insights into the complexities of Fairtrade practices. Through this immersive activity, they not only learned about the significance of Fairtrade in supporting sustainable development and fair compensation but also reflected critically on their own shopping habits, considering how they can contribute to a fairer global marketplace. The session was both educational and entertaining, leaving a lasting impression on all participants.
